Our Story
The Associazione Parmense story begins with the emigrants who left Italy to seek a new life in England. Their powerful attachment to their homeland and to the territory in which their moral and cultural roots were established led them to form associations that would enable them to keep in touch with their compatriots and help them retain and celebrate their cultural heritage.
Four associations were created independently, representing different regions of the Province of Parma: Casanova, Pellegrino, Valceno and Valtaro.
The Associazione Parmense was formed in 2012 to unite the forces of these four associations with the conviction that their shared core values of solidarity and friendship would make for an even stronger union.
Our Mission
The mission of the Associazione Parmense has always been to keep our culture alive so that we can pass it on in both language and tradition to future generations.
We strive to maintain our ties with Italy and with each other so that we may continue to celebrate our heritage and reinforce the values of friendship and solidarity that have always accompanied our journey.
We do this by organising events and activities that bring the Italian community together, while raising funds to support worthy causes both in Italy and the UK.
Operating as a non-profit, we are run exclusively by volunteers and value the generosity of sponsors and supporters to help us in achieving our goals.
